Pop up events for our Gigs Might Fly campaign

There will be pop-up Museum events for gig weekend and May Day, both in the front of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company offices in Hugh Town. The gigs display will include models from the Museum as well as photos of both historic gigs and more recent races, the May Day display will celebrate the islands’ historic May Day traditions and is part of the 150th anniversary celebrations.

Our gigs display is also a great opportunity to raise funds for the Gigs Might Fly Campaign – a crowdfunding campaign designed to help us raise the £35,000 needed to install the Klondike in her rightful place in the new centre. The campaign has been supported by our friends at the IOS Steamship Company who have been keeping the gig safely stored for us.
