Works on site update

The Town Hall’s Director Lydia Bassett visited site today to see how the building work is progressing with the removal of roof tiles from the Town Hall; the reproduction tiles are to be replaced by slate, a more appropriate material for the significance of the building.

A total of 150 tonnes of scaffolding can be seen in and around the hall, it’s not just on the exterior. Scaffolding is used throughout the building to get to parts not reached for many years.
