Stepnell’s Construction Update

With the recent bad weather, the works to the Town Hall have had to slow down, but general progress over the last few months has included:

  • The lift shaft is complete awaiting bracing detailing

  • The steel frame to the extension area delivered on 5th January 2026

  • Steel Framing System recommenced to the 1970’s building on 19th January 2026

  • The Internal lime rendering is ongoing (with the exception of the reveals, that will be completed after the main walls) this means around 90% is complete.

  • Quoins / stonework are being formed around existing openings

  • The lead work has been prepared and laid to the Town Hall valleys.

  • Reinforcement for the roof man-safe-system has been fitted

  • The lifting beam and lid to the lift shaft have been installed.
