Vanishing Labyrinths of the Isles of Scilly exhibition
There are only a few days left to catch our Vanishing Labyrinths of the Isles of Scilly exhibition - the culmination of the Scilly Labyrinths Project, which the Museum and Cultural Centre team have been supporting this year.
This project - funded by Arts Council England and National Lottery Heritage Fund - explores the pebble mazes of the Isles of Scilly, a labyrinth-making tradition unique in the UK.
As well as research into the history of Scilly’s mazes, the exhibition features original artworks made by local artists Teän Roberts and Layan Harman including a floor-to-ceiling silk labyrinth dyed with different plans from Scilly; a film documenting the process of restoring Giant’s Castle Maze on St Mary’s; plus original sculpture, costume and photography re-enchanting Scilly’s pebble maze folklore.
Vanishing Labyrinths of the Isles of Scilly is open from
10:30am - 4.00pm until Saturday September 27th
at St Agnes Island Hall.
